work wear: gussied up

as of late i've been working from home, which doesn't provide many opportunities to dress up. however, today i felt the strong need to get a bit gussied up for my jaunts out of the house. let's just say i really WOW-ed the baristas at my fav coffee shop  considering i wasn't wearing  my signature errand attire [i.e. cozy flannel and leggings].

i had almost forgotten about these sheer palazzos too! shocker, but i have a plethora of black, black and more black in my closet so it's easy to skip over certain pieces. i suppose i won't be able to wear these breezy guys for very much longer since it's getting colder here in the mitten.

speaking of which, does anyone have suggestions for some stylish/practical cold weather boots? i've completely worn through my tretorn boots and am on the lookout for something new. HELP! ;)

... and bringing you my awkward blogger photo of the day. i always feel like doing a soft shoe number whenever i wear these oxfords. lol.

xoxo, blair.

  3. I can understand the not getting dressed up just to work from home! But I am loving this outfit and sometimes the perfect outfit is all you need to inspire wearing 'real' clothes again. Instead of the pj's haha.

  8. Blair! I swear by Born boots. They are seriously timeless and high quality, especially in the Michigan winter months. I've rocked the same pair for 3 winters now and I don't see the end of them in sight. Good luck finding some sweet boots!

  12. Cute outfit! I always work from home, so I know what you mean. You sort of make an uniform for yourself. Mine are cotton dresses! For boots, you can check Cougar Boots. They are waterproof and warm. - Carla
