the other night at dinner, ross and i had an invigorating discussion on how bloggers [and people in general] choose to display their own unique personality online through their photos or writing style. background info: i went to grad school for counseling, hence why i looooove analyzing people. muahaha!
now whether an individual's online personality is accurate, that is an entirely different topic for discussion...
what i concluded from our discussion is that i never, ever want to deceive the readers on my blog. for the most part i've done an accurate job of portraying my serious side [i.e. stone cold be-yotch glares and 'smizes']. but since i believe in letting your true colors shine thru [yes, like the song], i've decided to let my nerdy and socially awkward side be known...
here she be. blair in true, awkward form. wardrobe willing, i'm hoping to give you all at least a one-photo laugh of my strange, long-limbed poses [or dance moves, if you're lucky] on each post.
[btw, ross loves these poses. it's how i won his heart!]
i guess the moral of the story is to express yourself?? bahaha... but seriously kids.
xoxo, blair

hmmm I wish I had a recording of this conversation so I could hear what you had to say about me. Excellent awkward pose. It'd be better if you were smiiiiling. HOTPOCKETS!
ReplyDeleteOh shush you! If you're lucky, maybe my next awkward pose will include a cheesy grin... ;)
Deleteamazing. my signature dorky move is the awesome high kick i do. unfortunately i'm trying to limit it nowadays to reduce the risk of back re-injury. i'm getting old.
ReplyDeletethe sweater and the pants are the bomb.

You look lovely, even when all stretched out! It's really interesting how people portray themselves on their blogs because it's what they -choose- to put on, you know? Interesting to see what people include, and what they omit.
ReplyDeleteTotally! I suppose that's both the downside and brilliance of online communication. Even the craziest people can look normal online. Lol ;)
Deletegorgeous look! love this sweater :)

I think you could show as every part of you just being awesome as usual. And, really, you won my heart too with that pose (no, just joking, my heart is taken ;D)

lovin' that last photo. I totally agree with what you're saying. People definitely broadcast their 'best' selves via their blogs. Which can sometimes be hard to connect with, especially when people are truly talented at taking great photos. I definitely find it easier to connect with you since you put a silly photo up, along side all your more serious photos. You're gorgeous, keep being awesome! :)

LOVE this post!

Great post. Beautiful color combination.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I personally love seeing other bloggers who let their personality really shine on their blog, so I've started trying to not care if my own readers see the really dorky side of me in my pictures or writing.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that color on you. So gorgeous! And the metal collar necklace is so cool!
Ha ha Love this! That is about what 995 of my outfit photos look like!!! No joke. I night have to go scout out that sweater. I am obsessed. Your style...gah! LOVE-new follower!
ReplyDeleteI love both the outfit and the attitude ! You rock girl !
ReplyDeleteMy Blog - A Pretty Nest
Maybe the real toni is a serial killer... We will never know...lol. It's funny you brought this up because i feel like sometimes the way i am on my blog may come across as being a mom that is all into her looks and doesn't really care about being a "mom". But that couldn't be further from the truth. There are many parenting issues that i wholeheartedly support and some that i find so damaging to a childs' wellbeing. I'm definitely considered a "crunchy" mom, but peoplr don't see that.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's definitely something to consider when blogging. And i love your silly pose!! Amazing sweater too. :)
Toni
You have always struck me as a "cool", "hip" mom! And, you give us glimpses of Orion in your IG feed and on your blog. I love that personal touch. Keep on keepin' on girl! xo
