after a brief hiatus, it's back to the polishes.
i had to go sans-color for a jewelry photo shoot last week and [gasp] forgot to pretty my digits up afterwards! naked nails for me is about the equivalent of being in the nude, in public. it just [almost] never happens.
this "dots + diagonal" manicure is a layering act, so be prepared for some painting and dotting action. let's give this a go!
[base color: ballet slippers]
[diagonal color: dive bar]
[dots: mint candy apple]
all of these polishes are essie. i love essie polishes because they're thin, smooth and the bomb-diggity for nail art layering.
let me know if you give this mani a whirl!

This is amazing! Very easy (or so it seems)! I'm definitely going to give this a try after I get my new nail art brushes and dotting tools in the mail. :) Also, I'm sending you an email with an inquiry. :) <3

Thanks girl! Gosh, I was missing your blog posts - Glad to see you're back at it again! xo
Deletethis looks fantastic!! how do you get such straight lines on your second color coats? do you use the normal polish brush or a different one?
ReplyDeleteThank you! For this look I just used a normal polish brush - I find that Essie colors work best for nail art. They go on smooth and the brushes are smaller so it's easier to be precise. Have fun painting!!
